What is The Network?

The Network is designed to help new students make connections to the campus community and to help students successfully transition to the University of South Florida (USF.)  New students register for a “network” that meets regularly throughout the first part of the semester and is led by an upper-class student called a “Network Leader.”  Each group is themed around an interest, passion, or hobby. This program provides a flexible opportunity for students to develop meaningful connections to their peers and successfully transition to college and the Bull lifestyle. Fall 2015 Networks Include: Community Service, Crafting, Sports, Video Gaming, Touring Tampa, International Interest, Movies & Film, Leadership, Workout & Wellness, and Outdoor Adventure.

Why Join a Network?

  • The Network allows new students to develop an immediate connection with other students who share a similar interest, passion, or hobby.
  • The Network makes a large university like USF feel like a smaller community in a student’s first semester.
  • You will have conversations and learn skills that will help you successfully adjust to college life at USF.
  • The Network will provide new students with the opportunity to get involved with a variety of campus activities, clubs, and organizations.
  • The Network will provide you the opportunity to make a connection with a successful upper-class student who can serve as a guide, mentor, or coach in your first semester.
