What is The Network?

The Network is designed to help new students make connections to the campus community and help student successfully transition to the University of South Florida (USF).  New Students register for a “network” that will meet weekly throughout the first part of the semester and is led by an upper-class student called a “Network Leader”.  Each group is themed around an interest, passion, or hobby.  This program provides a flexible opportunity for students to develop meaningful connections to their peers with the purpose of having new students experience a successful transition to college and live the Bull Lifestyle.

Fall 2013 Network Groups

Workout and Wellness Network-Do you enjoy working out? Are you interested in learning about personal wellness? Well if you so, you would love the Workout and Wellness Network. Some of the activities this group will attend will be regular visits to the USF recreation center and wellness center. You will also have the opportunity to meet other students who love working out and wellness! You don’t want to miss out on this awesome group. Academic Network-Do you want to do your best in your classes this semester? The academic network will allow you to meet new bulls and learn about resources on campus that will allow you to be successful in your first semester. Sports Network -Do you love sports? Working out? Or simply being active? Well if you do, you would love New Student Connections’ brand new network group “Let’s get active”!  Some of the activities this group will attend will include USF football and soccer games. We will participate and watch intramural sports, and have a BBQ at USF`S Riverfront park! By joining the “Let’s Get Active” group you will have the opportunity to meet other first –year students who love being active just like YOU! Music Network-Do you absolutely love and appreciate music? Are you interested in learning about different types of music and emerging genres? Then join the “Music Scene” Network! A Taste of Tampa: Foodies Unite!-Do you love discovering new restaurants? Exploring exotic cuisine? Or simply enjoy a good meal? Well if you do, you would love New Student Connections’ brand new network group “A taste of Tampa”. Throughout the fall semester this group will travel around the USF campus and Tampa, experiencing a wide variety of cuisine! We will eat together at Champions Choice dining hall, take a trip to eat a Tijuana Flatts, Hibachi Buffet, and USF`s own Beef Brady’s. Finally, we will have a BBQ and cookout at a local park! By joining the group a taste of Tampa you will have the opportunity to meet other first-year students who love discovering all that the Tampa food scene has to offer! USF 101-The USF 101 Network provides an opportunity for students to attend different organization meetings and events. This network will give students an opportunity to discover everything that USF had to offer. The main goal is to help first year students find where they belong on campus.
